Our 2025–2026 Kindergarten Curriculum Picks (for My Advanced 4-Year-Old
Each year, I try to pull together a homeschool lineup that feels just right—challenging enough to keep my daughter engaged, but simple enough to still leave space for play, rest, and joy. This year, for kindergarten, we’re using a mix of structured curriculum and hands-on resources that have been working really well for us so far.
We keep things light—just 30 minutes to 1 hour a day—and after that, it’s time for play. We usually homeschool 4 to 5 days a week, depending on what life looks like that day. Below you’ll find everything we’re using for the 2025–2026 school year, including links, photos, and a full video walkthrough.

📘 Language Arts & Reading
We’re using a mix of The Good and the Beautiful and Core Knowledge Language Arts for our main curriculum, along with some more advanced readers since my daughter is reading at a 2nd grade level already.

✍🏾 Handwriting Without Tears
We’ve been using Handwriting Without Tears since preschool and I absolutely love the progression:
- My First School Book (Green – Preschool)
- Kickstart Kindergarten (Purple – Transitional K)
- Letters and Numbers for Me (Orange – Kindergarten)
We’re also incorporating the Building Writers books once we hit the kindergarten level to give her more writing practice and early sentence structure.
➗ Math Curriculum
For math, we’re using both Singapore Math Dimensions and Math with Confidence. One gives us structure, the other brings in fun and games—which my daughter needs!
- Singapore Math Dimensions (Kindergarten A & B)
- Math with Confidence – Kindergarten
- Math with Confidence – 1st Grade

🧪 Science & Geography
For science and geography, we’re loving the mix of Core Knowledge and The Good and the Beautiful’s story-based science books. These are gentle, engaging, and perfect for this age.
- Core Knowledge History & Geography (Kindergarten)
- Good and the Beautiful Science Readers: Fields & Flowers, Sparks & Stars, and Nests & Burrows (available on their site)

⏰ Our Daily Rhythm
Everything you see here takes us between 30 minutes to 1 hour a day—and then we’re done! After that, it’s playtime, field trips, books, or just relaxing together. We homeschool 4 to 5 days a week depending on our energy and schedule.
Some things may shift or change as the year goes on—but so far, this lineup has been working really well for us.
